STEP 1

Remove your existing lawn and use weed killer to get rid of any current plant growth to prevent it from reoccurring. You will need to remove approximately 6-9mm and for this you can use a turf cutter to make sure there is no regrowth. Ensure any cables or pipe work are below the digging depth.

Create a boundary around the perimeter by covering the edge with timber. Secure it into the soil with so that it’s level with the surrounding area and stays in place.

STEP 2

Make sure to compact the soil with a vibrating plate so that it is firm yet porous. A layer of hard core around 55-80mm is recommended for poor drainage or for pets that use limestone chipping. Use approximately 15mm of sharp sand or dust granite on the area, making sure it is compact and level with the surroundings. We recommend 25KG per m2. This will create a solid brace that prevents the new lawn from sinking and allows rainwater to drain sufficiently. Lay your weed membrane and attach it to your perimeter removing any excess once you are satisfied with your subbase.

STEP 3

Line up your artificial grass from one of the corners of your perimeter ensuring it is flat and tight. For the most natural look, ensure the pile direction is the same for every roll of grass laid down.

STEP 4

Neaten all edges by cutting any excess. Use galvanised fixing nails to secure your grass to the timber frame.

STEP 5

Brush your newly installed lawn to give the grass a fresh natural look.

STEP 6

Enjoy your new lawn!
